So I wrote a blog yesterday about all the fun we had at Wisdom Lane Middle School yesterday and I got a real positive response from it. Some of it was from the new Myachi Maniacs from Wisdom Lane that dug the way I complimented their school, but the majority were along these lines:
"Man, that sounds awesome. I wish you guys could do that at my school."
My answer to that, of course, is that we'd love to do that at your school. Doesn't even matter how far away your school is. It's the most effective STWAKOJ method we've ever found and it's great for the students and the school as well.
So if you want Myachi Masters to come and take over your gym class someday, here's what you can do to help make it happen: Talk to your principal, your gym teacher, the PTA president at your school or any really cool teacher that you think would dig Myachi.
Tell them about what we do. The more stoked you can get when you tell them, the better. When they say, "Yeah, but what's in it for us?" you can offer them one or more of the following things:
- Myachi is a great way to build hand-eye coordination, felxibility and balance.
- Myachi teaches people to believe in themselves and demonstrates the benefits of practice.
- Gym class is usually only fun if you're mad athletic, but at Myachi gym class, everyone has fun.
- Gym teachers work too hard anyway. They could use a few easy days and that's what we'll give them.
- Myachi is a great way for the school to make money.
"On the contrary," you can tell them, "Myachi does a number of fund raisiers for schools so if you do it right it actually makes the school money instead of costing them anything."
See, both of the last two schools we did made more money than they spent. The one before Wisdom Lane was North Shore Middle School. They made 300 custom Myachis in two colors with their school logo printed on it and sold them in 3 days. The school bought them from us at a discount and sold them for $10 a piece. They ended up making over $2000 and everyone in the school had a blast for a few days.
This last school was a bit different. They didn't have the budget to make a custom Myachi so we suggested they could sell Myachis at the school store. They told us they didn't have the budget to buy the Myachis so we just gave them a few boxes and told them to pay us for what they sold and to give the rest of it back.
We gave them 72 but they sold them out in less than 40 minutes. From what I hear it may have been in less than 10 minutes. They asked for another 36 but before we could even get those they were asking for another 144. After they paid us for the ones they'd sold they still had over $800 in profit and that was in one day! They asked if we could bring them some more on Monday...
So when Myachi does a gym class, it's what people in the marketing world call a win-win-win-win:
- The School wins because they make money.
- The gym teachers win because they get an easy day.
- The students win because they have fun all day (while also learning all that good stuff I was talking about earlier like self confidence and coordination).
- Myachi wins because we get to spread the word to so many people all at once (and have a lot of fun in the process).
Oh yeah, the technical stuff. If you get somebody from your school interested, have them call Kid Myach at the HQ (but tell them Jason because adults have some kind of issue calling a place and asking for "Kid Myach" or "Crazy Ivan") at (516) 801-4949.
And, of course, if you can help get us into your school it will become a win-win-win-win-win because we'll totally hook you up as well.
Good luck!
