Contest Update

A combination of factors kept me from updating the contest last night at midnight so I apologize to anyone who was breathlessly anticipating the update.

There was a lot of action on our You-Tube "Trick of the Day" Contest yesterday that included  a couple of lead changes.  I think everyone involved with it was kind of dreading Mantis stepping into the competition.  He not only took the lead but crushed it when he posted a video of 59 tricks.

It was enough to take the lead, but it was not enough to hold it.  Before the day was out, another crushing video came out of Switzerland with a total of 60 tricks so the bar was raised again.

As of midnight last night, our boy Myachi Max had retaken the lead and at the moment it still stands at 60 tricks.  I suspect we'll see yet another lead change over the weekend, but for the time being Max holds the lead at 60 tricks.

His video is on Facebook rather than You-Tube but if you have a chance you should definitely find it, even if you have to seek out Max on Facebook to friends him.  When he hits the record his celebration is too fun to watch.  He carries on for several more tricks, but a few early errors subtracted from his total and while he did 63 moves, only 60 of them count for official purposes (he was slightly off on some technical aspects of a couple of moves).

At the moment there are some 85 tricks that could be done for the purposes of the video so less than a week into the tournament and we're already 70% of the way to a full run.  I'll be adding more tricks to the list next week and I'm seeing to it that the first few are relatively easy so even if Max's lead holds over the weekend there is a good chance that a new contender will arise Monday or Tuesday.

So for those keeping score at home, Max has the lead at 60 tricks.  The second prize, of course, is for the person who leads for the most days over the 4 week contest.  Max also has a slight edge in that contest as well, as the current standings break down as follows:

Kickstand: 1 day
MyachiGold: 1 day
Myachi Max: 2 days

And so far, if anyone is winning this contest it is probably me.  I'm having way too much fun judging it and I'm getting paid to do so.  So keep me busy and keep those videos coming!!!

Note: I should remind all contestants that part of entering a video is LETTING ME KNOW.  If you put up a video and don't email or PM me about it, it's like the tree that falls in the woods with nobody around to hear it.  Make sure you PM or email me the link to your video once it's up to ensure that it gets counted.
